Description Robert Brendel 2003-09-15 02:37:54 UTC
emu10k1 ebuild 0.20a-r5 can not be compiled because of missing "\n" and "\" in
strings in the sources of emu10k1-tools. These chars are missing in three
different files. In the current cvs-ebuild are similar errors.

emu10k1-gcc-3.3 patch

The errors are caused by gcc-3.3 being much more strict than earlier
versions about multi-line strings. This patch allows emu10k1-0.20a
(and emu10k1-cvs-16042003) to be able to be compiled using gcc-3.3.

reassigning to package maintainer.

can you please test this and get back to me
the patch has been added and comitted.
it will not compile here due to kernel issues which i cannot fix immediately.
Comment 5 Thomas Seifert 2003-09-20 06:07:21 UTC
Works great by applying from hand.
Could this please added to the package? Thx :-)
Comment 6 John Mylchreest (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-20 06:23:16 UTC
this has been added to the package (emu10k1-cvs) which is why i asked if you could test it ;)
My appologies for not making myself very clea.
I will await your response.

If this works fine under emu10k1-cvs i will add to emu10k1 as well.
Comment 7 Thomas Seifert 2003-09-20 07:54:16 UTC
thx for making this clear.
I just misunderstood the timestamp from the emu10k1-cvs (16042003).

Now I installed fine from emu10k1-cvs and I've got (officially) sound again :-).
