I'm packaging the same plugin for Fedora (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=571502). I talked to its author Konrad Gräfe and he said that he prefers that Linux distributions use the name pidgin-birthday-reminder (sourceforge doesn't allow that long project names, that's why it's called pidgin-birthday in there). So I'd kindly ask you to rename pidgin-birthday-1.4.ebuild to pidgin-birthday-reminder-1.4.ebuild in Sunrise overlay to improve consistency between different Linux distributions. Thanks!
Perfect, the ebuild was renamed! :) It's in : http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/sunrise/browser/sunrise/x11-plugins/pidgin-birthday-reminder
The project has moved to launchpad https://launchpad.net/pidgin-birthday-reminder and there is new version out.
new version was added to sunrise, available via: http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/sunrise-reviewed.git;a=tree;f=x11-plugins/pidgin-birthday-reminder
