No traces of media-libs/jpeg-compat, I have only media-libs/jpeg7 installed. I tried with emerge -e world, hoping it was some dependience to be rebuild up, but nothing, the problem remains the same. I resolved using the kde-testing overlay and using media-sound/amarok-2.1.90
As you say it was fixed on 2.1.90 and 2.2.0 has been put in the tree, I'm going to close this as FIXED. If anyone still hits this issue, feel free to reopen the bug.
