Description Billy DeVincentis 2009-09-11 21:58:57 UTC
When you start apricots, x will freeze. I was getting different messages in Xorg log but it would seem that it cannot change to that resolution.

xf86OpenConsole: VT_WAITACTIVE failed: Interrupted system call

Other games that are full screen seem to start up just fine.

Reproducible: Always

@wranglers:
please assign to nvidia guys
@games:
we don't do nvidia :] i dont even know what version of xrandr nvidia supports :]
Comment 2 Billy DeVincentis 2009-09-11 22:29:06 UTC
I don't think this has anything to do with nvidia. If I use the vesa driver, the result is the same. If someone else is using the ~arch, please test this and maybe you will have a better understanding of what the problem is.

I don't know if this gives you any hints but after compiling and installing the package manually into /usr/local, upon trying to start the game it dies complaining about this

Could not open file: //apricots.shapes
Comment 5 Billy DeVincentis 2009-09-12 02:31:24 UTC
This is the relevant part of my emerge.log . Somewhere in here there is a package that caused the problem, btw, I downgraded xorg-server to the previous release but that had no effect

Does anyone know if there is something wrong with my sdl use flags?

emerge --pretend --verbose libsdl

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies * waiting for lock on /var/db/.pkg.portage_lockfile
 ...                                                             [ ok ]
... done!

Comment 9 Billy DeVincentis 2009-09-14 02:54:44 UTC
Okay, I have tracked this down. If openal is built with the pulseaudio use flag against the newest version of pulseaudio, it breaks apricots. I am going to file a bug against openal.
