Description Benjamin W. Fisher 2003-09-10 10:40:15 UTC
When I try to emerge app-admin/mtools, which I need for another application to use, in the middle of compiling, I receive the following ACCESS VIOLATION summary:

chown: /var/cache/edb
chown: /var/cache/edb/dep
open_wr: /var/cache/edb/mtimedb

A log file is created, but it says no more than that.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

1.x86 system
2.gentoo 1.4_rc1 - portage 2.0.44
3.emerge app-admin/mtools

Actual Results:
Beeping from pc speaker and:
-----------ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY-----------
chown: /var/cache/edb
chown: /var/cache/edb/dep
open_wr: /var/cache/edb/mtimedb
----------------------------------------------

Expected Results:
Compiled...
