Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2009-09-04 07:38:12 UTC
[ebuild R ] net-misc/networkmanager-0.7.1-r6 USE="avahi -connection-sharing -dhclient -dhcpcd -doc -gnutls -nss -resolvconf" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.7.1-r3 USE="-debug" 0 kB

I am using them with no problems since they were added to the tree. This would depend on policykit stabilization but seems that it wouldn't be a problem (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281427#c12). This stabilization would also allow to stabilize gnome-applets-2.26 (and others, see bug 281427) without dropping nm support.

Also, nm-0.7* works far better in my systems than current stable.

I have seen some opened bugs against these versions:
bug 276533 -> seems not hard to solve
bug 278912 -> I am unable to reproduce it with current stable linux-hearders
bug 277879 -> I think that this is the "harder" problem, I cannot test it since I don't use dhcp and I also use networkmanager system-wide

My emerge --info:

Please file two separate bugs please
Comment 2 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-09-13 08:51:23 UTC
I will assign to maintainer. They should decide whether they want to have two bugs.
Comment 3 Robert Piasek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-09-17 08:51:32 UTC
Can we please have two separate bugs please? One for NM and one for gnome's applet.
Comment 4 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2009-09-17 09:08:02 UTC
Just done (bug 285278) :-)

Regards
Comment 5 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2009-09-24 19:04:20 UTC
Sorry, but I don't see it blocking kde 4.3.1 stabilization.
