Description Dror Levin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-26 22:56:38 UTC
When using autocompletion in python 2.6 with readline 6.0 there's an extra space after the completed word (e.g. in ipython). There's a patch for this issue in Arch, I will attach it here.

Has this problem been reported to Python upstream?
Comment 3 Dror Levin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-27 07:47:44 UTC
Yes, it is reported in
The patch attached is a subset of the patch in that report, only fixing the space issue.
Sorry for forgetting to include the upstream bug.

This patch works for me ;)
Comment 5 Dror Levin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-02-02 20:23:46 UTC
The upstream bug says the patch was committed to all branches (2.6, 2.7, 3.1, 3.2), which means it'll be in 2.6.5 (if that ever gets released). In this case, can it be applied in 2.6.4 to save us some waiting?
Comment 6 Arfrever Frehtes Taifersar Arahesis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-03-22 18:12:46 UTC
Fixed in 2.6.5 and 3.1.2.
