Description solar (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-20 22:32:44 UTC
Upon ever upgrade of seamonkey I think I've ever preformed it would always overwrite my default homepage (google.com) with www.gentoo.org I'm not of the logic of overwriting the default homepage. If it's intentional or just happened to be that way. But if it's fixable it would be nice to not overwrite the users default homepage upon upgrades.

If I'm confusing this with something else or dreamt the whole thing, sorry.
I think it only opens www.gentoo.org the first time you open Seamonkey, after the upgrade. That is, after it goes to www.gentoo.org after upgrading, if you close and reopen Seamonkey, I think it would go back to google.com. And even just after it opens www.gentoo.org, I think it would still show google.com in Edit/Preferences/Navigator/Home Page.

I have no idea what the reason for showing www.gentoo.org is. Maybe the "Your browser has been updated" page was set to www.gentoo.org, or something like that...

Is this still an issue with seamonkey-2?

Not sure. 1.x is still stable. That's what I tend to track.

Would be nice if you could test seamonkey-2.0.4-r1. It's the next stable candidate anyway (see bug #314009)
