updated xfce-extra directory

the same as xfce-base.tar.bz. in this directory are SOME files updated to rc3
not all, because some stuff is independent from the base developement like
xfce-session f.e.
Comment 5 Carlos Vendramini 2003-08-28 04:20:19 UTC
Great job guy.. Works really fine, and XFCE 4 RC3 is very cool much more polished...;-)
Comment 6 Svein Erik Brostigen 2003-08-28 12:00:23 UTC
I downloaded the new ebuilds and set out to update. The emerge process fails on a missing shared library or rather a link:

The library in question, /usr/lib/libdbh.so is not installed correctly as this link is missing. It does exist in other nameforms:
l /usr/lib/libdbh*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           28 Aug 28 14:24 /usr/lib/libdbh-1.0.so -> /usr/lib/libdbh-1.0.so.1.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           19 Jul 30 22:40 /usr/lib/libdbh-1.0.so.1 -> libdbh-1.0.so.1.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        34554 Jul 30 22:40 /usr/lib/libdbh-1.0.so.1.0.0
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root        33274 Jul 30 22:40 /usr/lib/libdbh.a
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root          782 Jul 30 22:40 /usr/lib/libdbh.la

If I create the link between /usr/lib/libdbh-1.0.0.0 and
/usr/lib/libdbh.so, it is deleted again during the make process so I can't get around the error.

Comment 7 Carlos Vendramini 2003-08-28 20:20:26 UTC
Hi..

See how libdbh are present in my /usr/lib/:

bash-2.05b# ls -l libdbh*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           19 Aug  7 11:32 libdbh-1.0.so.1 -> libdbh-1.0.so.1.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        35352 Aug  7 11:32 libdbh-1.0.so.1.0.0
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root        32636 Aug  7 11:32 libdbh.a
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root          782 Aug  7 11:32 libdbh.la
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           19 Aug  7 11:32 libdbh.so -> libdbh-1.0.so.1.0.0

Comment 8 FL 2003-08-29 02:59:53 UTC
you have to recompile dbh please. you need it for xffm. i recognized this fault but for now plz reemerge it manually.
Comment 9 Mike Salvaggio 2003-09-03 16:10:24 UTC
anyone want to commit it to portage?
Comment 10 Brad Cowan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-03 17:10:45 UTC
OK I have committed to portage, but the default behavior I changed, emergeing xfce4 will emerge the base and all of the extras, while emergeing xfce4-base will just install the core components just like the kde builds.

Thank you, Brad... great..great...:-)
