The same behavior as described in the Debian bug 501487 is met on Gentoo. SSL connections which use CA Certificates end with Java SSL exception.

Reproducible: Always

Version of icedtea: dev-java/icedtea6-bin-1.4.1

Fixed in icedtea6-1.6.1-r1 in java-overlay, icedtea6-bin will follow.
