Was looking at the logs of my blog to make sure that no further DoS would happen on it and I was almost going to blacklist this before I noticed it requested once an hour the gentoo and english categories' atoms (and thus checked the IP): 140.211.166.166 - - [24/May/2009:14:02:22 +0000] "GET /category/gentoo.atom HTTP/1.1" 200 115322 "-" "Python-httplib2/$Rev: 227 $" that's finch's IP, and the User-Agent reported is a pretty generic Python thing.. I remember the old software used to report itself as Planet Gentoo and Gentoo Universe, which was quite nice to make sure it never ended up blacklisted. Not tremendously high in priority but it would be nice ...
this doesn't seem like something that planet@g.o admins can actually do...at least, i have no idea how. infra, is this something you'd like to take a look at? (note that the bug is 3 years old...)
re-assigning to sysadmin herd which is the new maintainer of venus
