Description Alexandre Sanches 2009-05-22 02:18:08 UTC
When rolling over menu items that have submenus in the file menu, bad callbacks seem to be called.
Example :
When I open the file menu, then roll over the "New >" menu item that has subitems, a new editor tab is created. If I roll over it again, it makes just the same thing. It calls the callback of the "New" final (= without submenu) item.
The same with the "Open recent >", that probably calls the "Open" callback, and opens an "Open file" dialog.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Anjuta
2. Click the file menu
3. Go down, then up, then down, you'll see...

Actual Results:
Dialogs and tabs open.

Expected Results:
Just nothing ! :-)

Material platform is probably irrelevant.
The bug is by no means a blocking one, but it's really annoying...
I have not seen this bug upstream.

What version of gtk+ do you have installed? I can reproduce the faulty behaviour with x11-libs/gtk+-2.16.1, but not with x11-libs/gtk+-2.14.7.

Sorry for the wait...
I run essentially a ~amd64 system with many use flags, so my GTK+ is 2.16.1 .
That's a source I did not imagine for the bug.
Alas, I don't really have the time or the skills to investigate this, but I'm quite curious to read the final corrective.

please try with 2.26.2.0. There is little chance we are going to fix 2.24 at this point since it has a lot of known bugs besides what is listed in our own bugzilla and it wasn't handled in due time.
Comment 4 Alexandre Sanches 2009-06-01 22:51:52 UTC
For what I'm concerned about, nothing more is necessary : 2.26 works. Use your time on useful things, thank you ! :-)

thanks.
