Description Kevin O'Gorman 2009-04-27 04:09:05 UTC
My current installation of app-office/openoffice-3.0.0 does not start because it cannot load /usr/lib/libicuuc.so.38. That's because dev-libs/icu-4.0.1 defines /usr/lib/libicuuc.so.40 instead; it was upgraded from icu-3.8.? somewhere along the line.

I can and have run "emerge -aDNvut world", revdep-rebuild, and "emerge --depclean" to no effect.

I'm hoping that forcing a re-emerge of openoffice fixes this, but I won't know for a couple of days if I remember right. I think some ebuild needs tweaking.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. "ooffice"
2.
3.

Actual Results:
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.38: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Expected Results:
normal start

I should also say: I'm going to hold off compiling anything involved in this, just in case I need to answer questions. I have other Linux systems to do my word processing on.

This *is* app-office/openoffice, right? Not app-office/openoffice-bin?
