Comment 2 Zdenek Sojka 2009-03-24 09:14:14 UTC
I had the same problem with mplayer-20090226.28734-r1 . It compiles fine with gcc-4.3.3 and gcc-4.3.0_alpha200903xx, but segfaults with gcc-4.3.3-r1.
Comment 3 kavol 2009-03-24 09:26:03 UTC
I've got this problem too

I wonder why the compilation uses march=native and O4 while I, and the author of the report, have totally different CFLAGS ... what is the reason to override march, what about possible crosscompilation, for example?

For this case, USE=custom-cpuopts (then USE=mmx, sse and such have effect) or USE=cpudetection (optimised code version is chosen in runtime). (correct me if I am wrong)

emerge --info

Having the same issue with gcc-4.3.3 and glibc-2.9_p20081201-r2 and ~amd64.
Comment 8 Dmitry Karasik 2009-03-24 12:55:21 UTC
-std=gnu99 seems to be the problem. Changing it to -std=gnu89 allows that file to compile
Comment 9 Kim Seongcheol 2009-03-24 15:37:18 UTC
This seems to be a duplicate of Bug #262567.
re-emerging gcc solved this problem.
Comment 10 Nikoli 2009-03-24 16:30:46 UTC
Same crash with gcc-4.3.3-r1 (was compiled at Mar 17), but mplayer compiles well at another system with same settings (gcc was recompiled there one day ago)

Will try to recompile gcc and then compile new mplayer.

Re-emerging gcc solved this problem for me too.
Comment 12 Nikoli 2009-03-24 17:13:50 UTC
recompiling gcc solved problem :)
