This is a tracking bug for the new vhost-config tool.
See http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.gentoo.devel/10874 and http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.gentoo.devel/10884 for some of the initial discussion.
Working on it in CVS @ gentoo-src/vhost-config
Is there a project home for this, or has it died?
I'd also be interested in knowing whether or not GLEP 11 is still alive or not.
accepted standard.
The work is alive and well. There's code in Portage. There are ebuilds in Portage that use the new code. We've made announcements about code releases in GWN, on gentoo-dev, and in Linux Weekly News. We've also announced a new Gentoo mailing list for discussing all things web-related (gentoo-web-user@gentoo.org). I'm not sure where else we could have made noise about this ;-) Best regards,, Stu
Good stuff. I guess I'll just have to join gentoo-dev!
Was vhost-config renamed to webapp-config, or are these two different things? If it was renamed, that's where the confusion is. I'm not clear on it, either.
Hi vhost-config is meant to be a separate tool from webapp-config. It's meant to create the skeleton structure that you mentioned in bug #56577, amongst other things. At the moment, David Stanek has taken up the work on vhost-config. Best regards, Stu
Any news on this? Or is there another way of configuring vhosts now?
Okay, I've established the www.vhost-tools.org project to create the next generation of these tools. webapp-config is well established in Gentoo now. Until we release a working vhost-tools package, admins will have to continue to create & configure vhosts by hand. Best regards, Stu
www.vhost-tools.org is not available
