I might make one myself, if it isn't too hard. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Hmm, looks like it might be pretty trivial: http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/TWikiOnGentoo Worth making an ebuild for anyways though. I'm sure many noobish users would shy away from installing it from scratch...most web-based applications like this are somewhat complicated to install sometimes.

Please note that this isn't actualy a duplicate. TikiWiki and Twiki are different things.
Hi, My apologies, but we simply don't have the free time right now to create ebuilds on request. Have you tried writing an ebuild for this package? On our website, we have a good beginner's guide to writing ebuilds. You can find our documentation here: http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/docs.xml. Come back with an ebuild, and we'll be happy to look at it again for you. Best regards, Stu
Stuart, I think you misunderstood me. I created this bug as a placeholder for when I eventually create the ebuild myself. Also as a place to ask questions, for me or whoever else is interested in the twiki ebuild. (I know the Gentoo developers do not create ebuilds-on-request. However, in the past I have seen lots of open bug reports which are basically just requests for ebuilds, under the "feature enhancement" category. Is it a new policy to have no ebuild-request bugs?) I have installed twiki on my machine manually from the tarball. I will provide an ebuild eventually (no firm time set). My first question is...where do I install twiki, into /home/httpd/twiki, /home/httpd or /home/httpd/htdocs/twiki? I installed it manually into /home/httpd/htdocs/twiki as I could very natually access my twiki at http://homepage.com/twiki. Otherwise I think I would need to create a new virtual server in apache which is a pain.... Comments please.
Hi David, The easy answer is that you don't install it into any of those locations. We're in the process of implementing GLEP #11 (http://glep.gentoo.org), and as part of that there'll be a new eclass which will hide a few installation details from ebuilds (and require more information from them too). I'm hoping to get a first-cut eclass out this weekend, for review and revision. Best regards, Stu
The proposal looks good. Will the eclass be available in portage? or do I have to download it manually in order to try it out?
I'll be putting the eclass into Portage, along with an ebuild or two to demonstrate how I see it being used. I'm sure it'll undergo a few changes before being fit for mass-use, mind ;-) Stu
