Description Etienne Hilson 2009-02-15 12:31:24 UTC
When I run esync, all is normal and working correctly except that the display of the list of upgraded packages is showing only the first upgraded package and not all the list.

Here is an example :

ehilson@rebel ~ $ sudo esync
 * Importing old portage tree
 * Doing 'EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS="" /usr/bin/emerge --sync' now

 * Doing 'eupdatedb' now

 * indexing: 0 ebuilds to go
 * esearch-index generated in 3 minute(s) and 37 second(s)
 * indexed 13278 ebuilds
 * size of esearch-index: 2109 kB

 * Importing new portage tree
 * Preparing databases
 * Searching for changes

[ N] app-accessibility/java-access-bridge (1.24.2):  Gnome Java Accessibility Bridge
ehilson@rebel ~ $ sudo emerge -DavuN world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild     U ] app-crypt/gnupg-2.0.10 [2.0.9-r1] USE="bzip2 ldap nls -caps% -doc -openct -pcsc-lite (-selinux) -smartcard -static" 3,736 kB

Total: 1 package (1 upgrade), Size of downloads: 3,736 kB

Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No]

Of course, at least gnupg whould be present in the list :-)
This bug has been reproduced several times before I reported it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.run esync
2.
3.

Actual Results:
the list of upgraded packages is not complete (only the first one is displayed)

Expected Results:
the full list of upgraded packages should appear

ehilson@rebel ~ $ sudo emerge --info

Comment 1 Glenn McCarthy 2009-03-28 20:28:43 UTC
Fixed for me by editing /usr/sbin/esync, and removing the 'break' statement from line 196.
Comment 2 Etienne Hilson 2009-03-28 22:58:43 UTC
not important for me anymore as eix-sync is doing the same job but better.
Comment 3 Mickaël Bucas 2011-03-05 19:48:07 UTC
