It appears to be a GCC bug since I found this solution on to other bug around this error.

Re: [SOLVED] Logitech G11/Logitech G15 keyboard extra keys
It appears that the newer versions of gcc are more strict in the way the "open" function is called which is causing this problem on one line in the utility_funcs.c file.

To fix, go to line 359 in the file "<yoursrcdir>/g15daemon-1.9.5.3/g15daemon/utility_funcs.c" and change the following line:

config_fd = open(filename,O_CREAT|O_RDWR|O_TRUNC);

to

config_fd = open(filename,O_CREAT|O_RDWR|O_TRUNC,0664);

This will allow g15daemon to compile.
</paste>

I can't seem to find a relevant file of pilot-link build to attempt a fix on the issue.
Comment 1 Santeri Saarinen 2009-02-11 10:17:53 UTC
I should add that this happens on all versions of pilot-link and not just 0.12.3
Comment 2 Santeri Saarinen 2009-02-11 12:47:30 UTC
it appears that src/pilot_schlep.c truly has the line:

config_fd = open(filename,O_CREAT|O_RDWR|O_TRUNC);

The only problem is that even when I've patched it to include the ",0664" I don't know how to make it an ebuild.

On GCC 4.1.2 it compiles fine.
