the line with >=media-libs/wxsvg-1.0[ffmpeg] in the ebuild file is wrong and should be >=media-libs/wxsvg-1.0. when changing this the ebuild builds correctly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge dvdstyler 2. 3. Actual Results: All ebuilds that could satisfy media-libs/wxsvg-1.0[ffmpeg] have been masked with the ~amd64 keyword. Expected Results: When you have media-libs/wxsvg ~* in package.keywords on a amd64 system it should just build here is the fixed ebuild. # Copyright 1999-2009 Gentoo Foundation # Distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2 # $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/media-video/dvdstyler/dvdstyler-1.7.2_beta4.ebuild,v 1.1 2009/02/08 11:08:07 dragonheart Exp $ EAPI=2 inherit eutils wxwidgets MY_P=DVDStyler-${PV/_beta/b}_1 DESCRIPTION="DVDStyler is a cross-platform DVD authoring System" HOMEPAGE="http://www.dvdstyler.de" SRC_URI="mirror://sourceforge/dvdstyler/${MY_P}.tar.bz2" LICENSE="GPL-2" SLOT="0" KEYWORDS="~amd64 ~ppc ~x86" IUSE="gnome" COMMON_DEPEND=" media-video/ffmpeg x11-libs/wxGTK:2.8 >=media-libs/wxsvg-1.0 >=media-libs/libexif-0.6.16 gnome? This seems to not be a problem with the ebuild as far as I can tell. Did you try USE="ffmpeg" emerge dvdstyler? That should just have pulled the necessary dependencies in. Perhaps portage is giving a strange/erroneous warning when you don't have the right use flags enabled and are setting keywords in package.keywords?

Perhaps portage is giving a strange/erroneous warning when you > don't have the right use flags enabled and are setting keywords in > package.keywords? > The only problem it had was with the line that contained >=media-libs/wxsvg-1.0[ffmpeg] ones you remove this [ffmpeg] from that line it builds like a charm ...USE="ffmpeg" emerge dvdstyler has nothing what however to do with it... I just used the syntax for that line that was in the previous version and it worked again...so it is wrong to do >=media-libs/wxsvg-1.0[ffmpeg] ^^^^^^^^ this in a ebuild. Michael
> so it is wrong to do > >=media-libs/wxsvg-1.0[ffmpeg] > ^^^^^^^^ this in a ebuild. No, that's EAPI-2 syntax for wxsvg built with ffmpeg use flag.
I don't see a bug. This is a valid EAPI 2 feature.
