Description Nick 2009-02-01 21:55:42 UTC
/usr/include/bits/fcntl2.h:51: error: call to '__open_missing_mode' declared with attribute error: open with O_CREAT in second argument needs 3 arguments.

Then the emerge fails.

I was told the new gcc-4.3.3 enabled FORTIFY_SOURCES which enables these errors, if that helps point in the right direction (Thanks to bonsaikitten for reproducing).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Running ~amd64...
2. emerge -av dosemu

While it sort of, kind of, is FORTIFY_SOURCES problem,
it's probably something that should be fixed upstream.

While they do use 3 arguments in most places,
it looks like there are about 2 places left,
where mode (permissions) should be added.

I got an easy fix by downgrading my gcc version and recompiling. Though I just figured I'd let others know about it, as it's possible other packages might experience the same thing.

I took a fix from upstream svn to resolve this.
