Comment 1 Eric Brown 2003-07-30 17:57:07 UTC
anyone know wtf this is happening for? should i emerge -C xfree , then risk not having x windows at all until i find a working version?
Comment 2 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-30 18:04:19 UTC
try and clear your ccache and see if that helps.
Comment 3 Eric Brown 2003-07-31 09:23:22 UTC
i cleared ccache and tried again, no luck (same error).. maybe i should turn ccache off?
Comment 4 Eric Brown 2003-07-31 10:40:57 UTC
seemant, i emerged binutils again, did emerge xfree and i get a different error:

Comment 5 Eric Brown 2003-07-31 11:38:34 UTC
removed ccache from FEATURES, back to the Login.o problem. this sucks.
Comment 6 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-31 15:39:24 UTC
that makes no sense at all :/
Comment 7 Eric Brown 2003-07-31 19:04:55 UTC
FIXED: thanks seemant!
solution:
1) removed/turned off ccache
2) emerge binutils (again)
3) emerge xfree
Comment 8 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-31 19:23:13 UTC
glad it's fixed :)
