The following name clash exists: # equery belongs /usr/bin/extract [ Searching for file(s) /usr/bin/extract in *... ] sci-chemistry/pdb-extract-1.700 (/usr/bin/extract) app-crypt/pkcrack-1.2.2 (/usr/bin/extract) app-text/html-xml-utils-3.7 (/usr/bin/extract) # I see pkcrack installs /usr/bin/zipdecrypt why not renaming extract to zipextract on Gentoo?

add media-libs/libextractor, which also has a /usr/bin/extract i also have this: bangert@marsupilami ~ $ equery belongs /usr/bin/extract* [ Searching for file(s) /usr/bin/extract_a52,/usr/bin/extract_ac3,/usr/bin/extract_dca,/usr/bin/extract_dts,/usr/bin/extractres in *... ] media-libs/libdca-0.0.5 (/usr/bin/extract_dca) media-libs/libdca-0.0.5 (/usr/bin/extract_dts) media-libs/a52dec-0.7.4-r5 (/usr/bin/extract_a52) media-sound/alsa-tools-1.0.17 (/usr/bin/extract_ac3) app-text/psutils-1.17 (/usr/bin/extractres)
zipextract is unsused according to Google. I have emailed upstream P. Konrad, will post an answer. Generally I think emerge should die on file collisions and exceptions should be placed into say /etc/portage/known_file_collisions which every user would have to take care of.
