FTR, scintilla is a widget that's halfway between gtksourceview and gtkhtml.

it's also one of these things to was never properly released as a separate library, afaics. There is multiple versions of it bundled in at least anjuta, balsa, scite and various variants of its gtk bindings. We would basically need to become upstream of this package to fix the situation I believe.

Is this even still relevant, now that Balsa is up to 2.4.7?

Diego, are you sure this isn't a sci-electronics/balsa bug instead of a mail-client/balsa one?
