Gentoo should have support for using iw to configure wireless interfaces.  I'm currently unable to locate such support if it exists.  Specifically I have a requirement to set the regulatory domain on my wireless cards, and simply installing and running crda doesn't achieve this (and I don't seem to get the appropriate events from udev either).
