Description Lars Weiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-24 07:21:13 UTC
I tested it at least on ppc, but I think on x86 this will result in the same
problem.

When exim (4.12 and 4.20) compiles against db4 it crashes on delivering mails
with a SIGNAL 11. Recompilation against db3 will make exim work again.
Comment 1 Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-08-01 03:36:37 UTC
This bug is more for the exim maintainer. It is also not directly related to my patches.
Comment 2 Todd Berman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-08-03 10:03:28 UTC
srcerer is the maintainer of this one, im passing it along to net-mail however.

In the future all net-mail bugs should be passed there :).

exim-4.20-r2 has been added to portage. This build now utilizes the native dbm interface which should be compatible with db4. Please test for yourself and let me know how things go for you.
Comment 4 Lars Weiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-08-18 16:30:21 UTC
It's now compiled and linked against db4 (4.0.14-r1 in portage) as this version-information tells:

$ exim -bV
Exim version 4.21 #1 built 18-Aug-2003 15:24:38
Copyright (c) University of Cambridge 2003
Berkeley DB: Sleepycat Software: Berkeley DB 4.0.14: (November 18, 2001)
Support for: iconv() IPv6 PAM Perl TCPwrappers OpenSSL

Tested it today and sent some mails with it. No problems any more.

Thanks :-)

BTW: There has been a new exim-4.22 released today.
