adler32 /var/tmp/portage/sci-biology/finchtv-1.3.1/image/usr/bin/finchtv
jpeg_mem_init /var/tmp/portage/sci-biology/finchtv-1.3.1/image/usr/bin/finchtv
png_get_libpng_ver /var/tmp/portage/sci-biology/finchtv-1.3.1/image/usr/bin/finchtv

I can assess libpng version reasonably:

strings /usr/bin/finchtv reports

 libpng version 1.2.5 - October 3, 2002

What do you suggest I do about this?
Comment 2 Andrey Kislyuk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-03 16:54:18 UTC
I think this is impossible to correct since the package is closed source.

Why it's in /usr/bin then? It should go to /opt like all other binary-only software.
