at least app-vim/latexsuite and x11-plugins/pidgin-latex are depend on virtual/tetex. tetex provided from texlive.

Both depend on virtual/latex-base (a new style virtual) which primarily depends on dev-texlive/texlive-latexrecommended, and only secondarily on app-text/tetex (not virtual/tetex!), so I have to disagree strongly there.

In order to find the problem your particular system appears to be facing, please post your `emerge --info' and the output of `emerge -vp app-vim/latexsuite x11-plugins/pidgin-latex'.

Also, look into any overlays you may have for deprecated ebuilds.

Installed packages have old ebuild and paludis looks at it. I will reinstall the packages, it should help.

I found this with grep virtual/tetex:
eclass/gnustep.eclass:DOC_DEPEND="doc? ( virtual/tetex
