Description Mark 2008-12-14 02:32:05 UTC
When I attempt to compile libglademm it either hangs when building xml.o (it sticks here) or crashes out with:

{standard input}: Assembler messages:
{standard input}:0: Warning: end of file not at end of a line; newline inserted
i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++: Internal error: Segmentation fault (program cc1plus)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge libglademm

cc1plus failure looks like you were getting out of ram or something like this, please make sure this is 100% reproducible.
Comment 2 Mark 2008-12-14 16:32:19 UTC
Second and third runs repeated the same error .. fourth run brought this.

xml.cc: In member function `virtual GType Gnome::Glade::Xml::lookup_type_vfunc(const Glib::ustring&)':
xml.cc:231: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <URL:http://bugs.gentoo.org/> for instructions.
The bug is not reproducible, so it is likely a hardware or OS problem.

During the run, cc1plus is using ~80% RAM and ~10% CPU for around 10 minutes.
Comment 3 Mark 2008-12-14 16:39:42 UTC
I am still using gcc3 so I had a quick thought, switched to gcc4. It compiled in seconds no issues at all.
