After applying patch from bug 24923 (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24923#c6) xmailwizard starts XMail to listen Control Clients on port 29617 (line "MY_CTRL=29617" in /etc/conf.d/xmail copied from files/xmail.confd) but waits while it will listen on 6017 port (lines 31,35,59 and 63 in files/xmailwizard). So I get: === # /usr/local/portage/net-mail/xmail/files/xmailwizard Configuring XMail server ... Create CtrlClnt login name: mailadmin Enter CtrlClnt password: Enter password again: Enter fully-qualified domain name (e.g. xmailserver.org): test.com * Starting XMail... [ ok ] XMail Ctrl server not yet running ... sleeping 10 seconds. XMail Ctrl server not yet running ... sleeping 10 seconds. and so on... === I propose :%s/29617/6017/ in files/xmail.conf.d Sergey
The 29617 port is fine. I think you need iptables enabled in your kernel.
Yes it works. I am talking about port 29617. But xmailwizard is waiting connections on 6017 port. Have you ever tried it? It does not work! If you think that it is bug not in conf.d files, than do please %s/6017/29617/g for xmailwizard.
I have updated the xmailwizard from port 6017 to 29617
I am sorry, but I have one more compliant. Why you have changed port from 29617 to 6017 in one place (conf.d/xmail) and from 6017 to 29617 in another (xmailwizard)? You see, the problem was that they do not coinside. To make them equal, you should change one of them, for example xmailwizard - to 29617, as it is in conf.d/xmail. Or in conf.d/xmail - to 6017, as it is in xmailwizard. But not both of them! Now, after changing it both opposite changes, the problem persist and bug should not be considered as closed. Sergey
hehe... that's embarassing. I really meant for both files to be at 29617. It should be fixed now. :)
