Description Stuart W. Finlayson 2003-07-12 17:26:04 UTC
Here's the command and output:

wolverine root # emerge --deep --update --pretend fwbuilder

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies -
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy
"=x11-libs/gtkmm-1.2*".

!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --deep --update --pretend fwbuilder
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Dies with dependancy error.

Expected Results:
Lists the packages to upgrade, and upgardes when the --pretend flag is removed.

This happens because the dependencies for gtkmm were not updated in the portage tree when gtkmm was moved from x11-libs to dev-cpp! Please update the dependencies urgently.

Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-13 04:55:53 UTC
hmm isn't the whole move thing supposed to catch this so not every dep has to be updated at once ?
Comment 4 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-13 05:19:18 UTC
no it doesn't

but it's a good catch
open a bug, maybe portage can do this in the next release
