Description Nick Loeve 2008-10-23 13:14:14 UTC
Using the check_ups plugin always fills my logs and notification system with such messages as:

upsd[6048]: Host 192.168.x.x disconnected (read failure)

This is because the connection to the ups monitor is not closed gracefully. The below url (see additional info) is a link to the bug report opened at the nagios-plugins project. The patch attached to that ticket does not apply, but I will attached a current up to do version here. For some reason I cannot work out how to attach the updated patch at sf.net

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use check_ups to connect to a upsd
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The nagios check completes successfully, but the connection is not torn down properly, but failure messages are sent to syslog from upsd

Expected Results:
No failures in logs on successful check with check_ups

Fix check_ups closing the connection uncleanly

Makes check_ups logout from upsd at the end of a connection
Comment 2 Tobias Scherbaum (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-11-28 20:32:06 UTC
This one is fixed in upstream SVN and will be included in nagios-plugins-1.4.14 therefore. Marking this one as RESO/UPSTREAM.
