Description Serkan Kaba (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-09 19:04:47 UTC
when gucharmap USE flag is set configure is looking for gucharmap package but said version of gucharmap installs gucharmap-2.pc. A build.log file will follow.

ABI break is phun ! :)
Comment 3 Gilles Dartiguelongue gentoo-dev 2008-10-29 20:19:25 UTC
gucharmap just changed it pkgconfig file from gucharmap.pc to gucharmap-2.pc

Fix is easy, make stardict look for one or the other in sequence in configure.{ac,in}

This fix will be required to go stable as gnome 2.24 will go stable.
Comment 4 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-30 20:12:47 UTC
pkgconfig change is not all needed here. Stardict uses gucharmap_unicode_canonical_decomposition() which was removed from gucharmap. But fix is also obvious, just use g_unicode_canonical_decomposition. :) Patch is attached in upstream tracker (see URI), but I'll add it to the tree a bit later. I need to check other things in my overlay...
Comment 5 Serkan Kaba (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-02 12:12:26 UTC
2.24.2 is now in portage.
Comment 6 Gilles Dartiguelongue gentoo-dev 2009-01-04 00:43:51 UTC
the patch you submitted upstream looks fine but does it work with ancient gucharmap too or do you want to wrap it with #ifdefs ?
Comment 7 Gilles Dartiguelongue gentoo-dev 2009-02-18 22:46:27 UTC
Fixed in 3.0.1-r2. Thanks for the patch.
