The new kdelibs-4.1.2-r1 ebuild no longer sets the KDEDIRS environment variable. Unfortunately, if you have kdelibs-3.5.x installed, some applications seem to break. For example, running kinfocenter and konqueror (the kde 4.1.2 versions) yields these errors: !!!!!!! ERROR !!!!!!! - KHTML default stylesheet version mismatch. Aborting. Check your installation. File used was: /usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/khtml/css/html4.css. Expected STYLE_VERSION 1 KCrash: Application 'kinfocenter' crashing... sock_file=/home/user/.kde4.1/socket-theta/kdeinit4__0 <unknown program name>(7400)/: Communication problem with "kinfocenter" , it probably crashed. Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)" " Note, I also installed using the kdeprefix use flag if that is relevant. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Install kdelibs-4.1.2-r1 and kdelibs-3.5.9-r4 at the same time log into a KDE4 session run kinfocenter or konqueror Actual Results: A style sheet issue causes a crash Expected Results: It should run correctly running "KDEDIRS=/usr/kde/4.1/ kinfocenter" works correctly.
Could you upgrade to kdelibs-3.5.10-r1 and let me know if this is resolved. We are phasing out KDEDIRS as it will ultimately let KDE function much more smoothly.
That fixed it, I'll change the resolution to fixed.
