os.popen2 is deprecated in python-2.6.  With good reason, too, in that it is also apparently broken in python-2.6.  The bug's URL points to a thread regarding the bug and patch for a part of quodlibet's build process which fails as a result.
Since it will probably be a while before we see this code in a release, I'm also filing this bug here.

Hiya Steven,

Thanks for the python reports!  I've added the tracker bug to the "bug X blocks" field above, which will add it as a dependency to the tracker (as you requested).

Since you're the reporter of the bug, you should be able to do that too, even if you can't directly edit the depend field of the tracker bug.  Hope that helps, and thanks again for the reports...  5:)
