Evince often crashes when scrolling, it seems that if you scroll slower the problem occurs less often. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a pdf with Evince 2. Scroll around 3. Wait for it crashing Actual Results: Evince crashed with GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed Expected Results: Let me read that pdf... could you attach: 1) a meaningful backtrace (http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml) 2) the pdf causing this error, or is it happening with any pdf ?
2) It's happening with every pdf I've tried... After syncing and emerge world today and then reemerging evince because of: evince: error while loading shared libraries: libpoppler-glib.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory the problem seems to have vanished.
looks like it was poppler-bindings broken
I encountered similar failures with the latests stable amd64. Re-emerging evince fixed the problem. I wonder why didn't revdep-rebuild pick it.
