I don't know if this is a gentoo bug or not, since the problem isn't apparent on my debian box. This is kword 1.2.1-r1. ----------------emerge info---------------------- Portage 2.0.48-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.1-r4) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.20-gentoo-r5 i686 Pentium III (Coppermine) GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://www.ibiblio.org/gentoo ftp://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/pub/linux/gentoo http://cs.ubishops.ca/pub/gentoo" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /var/qmail/control /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/3.1/share/config /usr/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" USE="oss 3dnow crypt gif libg++ libwww mikmod mmx ncurses nls pdflib quicktime spell zlib gdbm berkdb slang readline arts svga java gpm tcpd pam ssl perl python esd imlib oggvorbis gtk motif gphoto2 cdr qt kde -gnome alsa cups dvd jpeg png opengl sdl truetype xml xml2 avi aalib mpeg encode X xmms xv x86 apm tcltk" COMPILER="gcc3" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O3 -pipe -funroll-loops" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O3 -pipe -funroll-loops" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" MAKEOPTS="-j2" AUTOCLEAN="yes" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" FEATURES="sandbox ccache fixpackages" --------------------end emerge info-------------------------------- When I try to open a .rtf file in kword, it fails with an error message similar to these: koffice (lib kofficecore): ERROR: Parsing Error! (in KoDocument::loadNativeFormat (KoStore)) koffice (lib kofficecore): Line: 56555 Column: 14 koffice (lib kofficecore): Message: tag mismatch These _are_ valid rtf files, as I can open them in Ted. This even happens when I try and open rtf files that kword has saved. It's rather annoying.
