Description Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-27 04:59:50 UTC
It looks for an unversioned symbol while db4 provides versioned symbols. This
should be fixed in the configure script
Comment 1 Nick Hadaway 2003-07-09 02:58:06 UTC
cyrus-imap-admin-2.1.14 is now in portage and should correctly detect the versioned symbols. please test.

Trying to build against cyrus-sasl-2.1.14 and heimdal-0.5.1 with USE="krb4 berkdb afs ssl sasl mysql kerberos"

checking for des_ecb_encrypt in -ldes... no
configure: error: The Kerberos DES library is required for Kerberos support. You might want --with-auth=unix.

!!! ERROR: net-mail/cyrus-imap-admin-2.1.14 failed.

Ian,

your problem is unrelated to this bug, so please file another bug for it. In the mean time, could you check whether cyrus-imap-admin can actually work with kerberos 4. Also you would probably want to use kerberos 5 if possible as it is supposed to be more secure.
Comment 4 Nick Hadaway 2003-07-13 13:18:19 UTC
Kerberos IV is not supported at the moment.

Kerberos V is supported properly... not through heimdal though as cyrus is looking for -ldes which heimdal does not provide, but is provided by mit-krb5.

Changing the dependancy to app-crypt/mit-krb5
