Well, it's definitely there in the vmware package, but other than specifically excluding that file, there's not a lot we can do (since we can't modify the source). XFCE guys, would it be easier to modify xfprint to put the file elsewhere (and look for it elsewhere), or would you like us to exclude it?
hmm, well. I guess we could place a preinst check in both ebuilds or something if they are identical files.
I don't know that they're the same to be honest. If it's any consolation, I believe vmware-workstation-6.5.0 (which is in testing in the overlay at the moment) keeps the printer.png to the vmware directory, and just the desktop icon images are in the main /usr/share/ directory...
Mike, Investigating this some more here. Since it is a rather PITA to grab the vmware sources, can you tell me if printer.png _looks_ like the one from xfprint? ;) For you convenience, it is here: http://dev.gentoo.org/~darkside/printer.png If so, I'll exclude it from xfprint if <vmware-workstation-6.0.5 exists on the users systems, that should be a decent workaround.
The one from 6.0.5 looks absolutely identical... http://dev.gentoo.org/~ikelos/printer.png Not sure what happens if a user installs xfprint followed by vmware-workstation, but luckily even if they just delete it and reinstall, it's really not a big deal since they're the same file...
