the OpenOffice portage doesn't depend on dmake portage, emerge fails to install the openoffice Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install the stage 3 tarball 2. emerge the openoffice 3. Actual Results: emerge fails, because it can't find dmake Expected Results: installation successfull
OpenOffice brings its own dmake with it. Could you please post your "emerge info" and the actual log of the failure?
Ok... I'm afraid this is a valid bug. OpenOffice brings its own dmake with it, but it can't be compiled. If dmake was already installed, the OO build does not fail in spite of this error. make all-recursive make[1]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/openoffice-1.0.3-r1/work/oo_1.0.3_src/dmake' Making all in unix make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/openoffice-1.0.3-r1/work/oo_1.0.3_src/dmake/unix' source='arlib.c' object='arlib.o' libtool=no \ depfile='.deps/arlib.Po' tmpdepfile='.deps/arlib.TPo' \ depmode=none /bin/sh ../depcomp \ /usr/bin/distcc /usr/bin/ccache gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I.. -I.. -I../unix/linux/gnu -I../unix -I../unix/linux -O -c `test -f arlib.c || echo './'`arlib.c distccd[31591] (dcc_execvp) ERROR: failed to exec /usr/bin/ccache: No such file or directory
It may sound a little silly, but is ccache installed on all distcc hosts? It seems that the support for the combination might be a bit flaky for openoffice.
