Description Aniruddha 2008-08-10 04:44:52 UTC
Every time evolution is started it asks for a password. If you click ok nothing happens. you have to click on "cancel" and then "send/receive"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Enter account information in evolution, select the 'safe password' option
2.Start evolution press "cancel" to get rid of the dialoque
3.Press send/receive to get your mails

It appears to be an upstream bug see:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/140460"%5Dhttps://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/140460

and:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=589284

For now now the best solution is the following workaround:

Move all your mails from the inbox to another folder. Then close Evolution.
Goto ~/.evolution/mail/local/ and remove all files beginning with Inbox (in my
case there were six files). Now you can start Evolution again and move the
mails back to the inbox. The bug disappeared.

I can confirm this works.
