Description Duane G. Meyer 2003-06-20 19:59:18 UTC
That was 1.4rc2 or rc3.

I see the initial purply boot screen. With rc2-3 I used to be able to see the
menu after typing F2. Not so with 1.4rc4. Also, 2-3 used to only boot if I told
it not to initialize my network card. Network was always working afterward
anyway, but not if I just press enter to boot.

System: (basically the Jan2003 "Hot Rod" from ArsTechnica)
AthlonXP 2400+
LinkSys 10/100 net card.. takes the tulip driver.
Epox EP8RDA+ mobo

Not sure why the troubles unless tulip's a bit of a buggy driver?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Turn on PC.
2.Insert CD
3.Press enter at boot prompt to lock things up.

Actual Results:
wait... and wait... and wait.. I timed 20 minutes during one of my more patient
periods. Then I gave up all hope.

If I do "nonet" it boots up fine. Load tulip drivers and everythings all ready.

Expected Results:
Shouldn't it boot? :)
