Frostwire 4.17.0 has been released and needs to be updated in portage. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. N/A 2. 3.
Sources are not readily available at the present time. I have contacted upstream and once sources are available. I will see about a version bump.
Still waiting on sources, will have to poke upstream again.
Couldn't the tagged code from svn be used? http://frostwire.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/frostwire/tags/frostwire_4.17.0_jul-09-2007/ There's also a tarball avaible: http://frostwire.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/frostwire/tags/frostwire_4.17.0_jul-09-2007.tar.gz?view=tar
I also just asked, too, if we could get a source tarball.
If I have to I will make my own tarball. But much prefer to use packaged sources from upstream. My contact is MIA, no response to email. Need to find another. Fun stuff.
Heard from upstream. They will be packaging sources ASAP. So once available will bump package. Should be sometime next week.
A month has elapsed. Any word from upstream on that source tarball?
It seems upstream is not going to release a source tarball, but that's not a problem, we can just do the tarball ourselves and upload to Gentoo mirror. IMO, the main problem is that Frostwire comes with tons of bundled libraries we haven't in portage, it has an ill build system, and it seems there's no documentation at all about how to build the thing properly. I have already spent a couple of hours trying to get an updated and proper ebuild, and I'm half of the way yet. So if people really want this app into portage... I hope someone steps up and try to do an ebuild.

Anyway, the tarball is not a real problem problem, we can create it from the svn repo. [1] https://frostwire.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/frostwire/trunk/
Reassigning to herd since wltjr has left Gentoo, bug #135927.

Ok here we go, frostwire-4.17.1 is located at http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/java/browser/java-experimental/net-p2p/frostwire I have bumped frostwire by currently exporting the source from svn. and tarballing it up. This is currently a manual process, see the ebuild for details. I have also set RESTRICT="fetch" for the meantime. Once I am happy with the ebuild, have replaced some more bundled jar (if possible), etc, etc. Then I will put the tarball on gentoo's mirrors and remove the fetch restriction. It would be nice to get some feedback as to how well this ebuild works, I have _started_ frostwire and it _seems_ to be running, but im unsure of whether I have missed anything.

Is anybody besides me aware that Frostwire 4.18.3 is available? There is a noarch tarball (along with builds for Ubuntu, Debian and a RPM) available from their download page... no need to do anything with subversion. Frostwire 4.13.5-r1 is the lastest in portage and that's from July. Seriously, is there no maintainer for this package?
