Failure in building python on mips. I wanted to see if the build was having problems due to a report of the debian-mips channel having problems with their build. I'm not sure that this bug has something to do with dev-lang/python-2.5.2-r5 ebuild. It fails after src_install(). Your "emerge --info" could be helpful

Not a problem. I have attached the emerge --info output. Other information that might be useful: This is a Lemote Fulong unit, running a loongson 2e MIPS chip. As such, it is a bit of an oddball.
OK... I think I know what happened... though I guess I could be wrong on this one. First of all, a new version of libc, etc has been installed. In addition, gcc-config has been configured with the later version (4.1.2). This also fixed a problem I was having with compiling mesa.
