Description Jeff Mitchell 2008-06-15 18:33:13 UTC
Every time I run revdep-rebuild, I get
  broken /usr/kde/3.5/lib32/libqtmcop.so.1.0.0 (requires libqt-mt.so.3)

The reason is because libqt-mt.so.3 is in emul-linux-x86-qtlibs, which is not pulled in as a dependency. It should be pulled in as a dependency at least if the "arts" USE flag is enabled for the soundlibs ebuild, if not always.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Jeff Mitchell 2008-06-15 19:39:48 UTC
Clarification: looks like qtlibs requires arts support in soundlibs, but soundlibs doesn't require qtlibs.
Comment 2 Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-20 11:56:19 UTC
I recently ran emerge --depclean --ask which removed qtlibs, but afterwards revdep-rebuild complained, as in your original report.

Therefore I conclude soundlibs *do* require qtlibs. Additional test was trying even the most recent soundlibs without having qtlibs installed. revdep-rebuild still complained.

There shouldn't be any arts flag
