The attached patch adds UYVY format support for the luvcview application. This support is necessary for the iSight webcam found in MacBooks. The linux-uvc driver already supports this webcam. This patch has been ported from the original patch of Debian. I would love to push this upstream, but I am not quite sure what is the upstream authority that maintains this application. It is not in the linux-uvc SVN. But there is something on a Logitech site: http://www.quickcamteam.net/software/linux/v4l2-software/luvcview.

Hello, and sorry for the late response. As far as I know, the upstream for luvcview is Michel Xhaard. Contact information is available here: http://mxhaard.free.fr/apropos.html
Thanks, Aggelos. I have contacted Michel and he agreed to integrate the patch. But looking at his website I honestly find it extremely hard to track a new release.
You can find the releases here: http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Investigation/uvc/ It looks like there isn't a new one yet.
May take him some time. His answer was: "Ok will done soon" :)
Moving to herd since agorf left Gentoo.
The Debian patch is now included in 0.2.6's ebuild: >>> Preparing source in /var/tmp/portage/media-video/luvcview-0.2.6/work/luvcview-0.2.6 ... * Applying luvcview_0.2.6-4.diff ... [ ok ] * Applying various patches (bugfixes/updates) ... * 01-uyvy.patch ... [ ok ]
