If you try to open a very large text-mail, Evolution hangs and needs a lot of CPU and time to work. Also, there are sometimes drawing bugs. (I will add a screenshot to show this.)

This is known upstream, please help them fix it directly. See for example http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=334444 This is partly due to the fact that the whole preview is done by gtkhtml so the mail is converted to html internally. Upstream would probably appreciate sample mails and profiling data.
