Description Martin Walch 2008-05-15 23:49:36 UTC
I just ran into an unresolved dependency that should be perfectly ok. After running

emerge world -uDN --with-bdeps

emerge --depclean

I ran

emerge -ep world

which resulted in

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies \
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "dev-java/junit" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-java/junit-4.4-r1 (masked by: ~amd64 keyword)
- dev-java/junit-3.8.2-r1 (masked by: ~amd64 keyword)
- dev-java/junit-3.8.1-r3 (masked by: )

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
(dependency required by "dev-util/eclipse-sdk-" [ebuild])

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for dev-util/eclipse-sdk
!!! Depgraph creation failed.

as you can see, portage does not tell why junit-3.8.1-r3 would be masked and emerging junit-3.8.1-r3 works fine

Reproducible: Always
