I have taken the time to take several of the wallpapers that users have done from the forums and put them into one tarball. I've also done up an ebuild and currently everything is hosted at breakmygentoo.net. We would appreciate if this were moved into portage proper as soon as possible to limit the amount of bandwidth being used on our servers as the download is 17 MB. Thanks, Karl

Created attachment 12793 [details] gentoo-wallpapers-0.1.ebuild This ebuild has worked for everyone who has tried it, and was run through liquidx's document "common ebuild mistakes"
As a side note, all but 3 of the artists have contacted me and given me the go ahead :) As for the other 3, I am confident they will contact me within the next 72 hours. They did; however, post their work on a public forum, so this should be perfectly legal.
We're now down to 2 artists left who haven't explicitly given written permission to use their work.
Everyone has now given their permission for the artwork.
There is already a gentoo-artwork ebuild that contains a few wallpapers. I might pull the images out of that and include them in this ebuild, leaving the gentoo-artwork ebuild to become a Gentoo "theme" type ebuild (and move it to x11-themes, rather than in media-gfx where I think it is now)
This would be great! Just keep me updated on what all you do as we have this ebuild on breakmygentoo.net. The wallpapers themselves have been downloaded 608 times this month, so there is obviously the demand :) Karl
All these bugs should be fixed in gentoo-artwork-0.3 Committed to cvs. 0.3 also contains extra images c/- breakmygentoo.net
