[blocks B     ] dev-libs/boehm-gc (is blocking dev-dotnet/pnet-0.8.0)

There a many packages which depend on both of these. And currently, you must choose between which set of packages can be installed, based entirely on which of these you choose. So I'm wondering if it would be possible to treat these as you do with slotted packages, so that there are no file conflicts between them blocking their simultaneous installation.

I'm posting this as a MINOR bug, rather than an ENHANCEMENT, because some of the packages that are blocked by this ripple through the entire system.
