I'm sometimes using an openmosix kernel, and sometimes a gentoo kernel (with lowlatency patches, and lowlatency openmosix seems far away). An "emerge alsa-driver" installs the alsa drivers into the /lib/modules/ dir of the kernel pointed to by /usr/src/linux. But at the same time it deletes the alsa drivers already installed in a kernel not pointed to by /usr/src/linux. This is really annoying, because if I want to have sound (ok, I could try OSS...) I need to "emerge alsa-drivers" after picking another kernel.
